Do you have a favorite fast food restaurant? Mine is a special fast food restaurant, Panera Bread. I had hoped it wasn’t hearsay, that Panera Bread was coming to town. After Uno left, we had two, maybe three more restaurants open and close before you could say . . . fast food.
I felt a quickening in my pulse when shopping atTrader Joe’s and I could watch the old come down and the new go up. I knew the time was near when I saw the new sign “PANERA BREAD” looming over their salmon colored awnings. Join up and you get a delicious present from them on your birthday. And it has free WiFi.
They are first choice for fast food and then some. it’s cozy and friendly, and they have delicious coffee. This is the best you can get for food served fast! Fresh baked breads, sandwiches, soups and salads are on the menu. Whole grains, free range chicken, hearty soups, and unique sandwich flavors make this a hot spot for me when I’m in a hurry or not. The zesty flavor of the Chipotle chicken with melted cheese when I sink my teeth into it….A sandwich cannot get much better than this…..and a healthy one , at that…..Goodbye Delis…. Panera Bread is taking over my town.
Panera Bread Company owns and franchises 1,591 bakery-cafes as of June 26, 2012, under the Panera Bread®, Saint Louis Bread Co.®, and Paradise Bakery & Café® names. Panera Bread bakery-cafes routinely donate bread and baked goods to community organizations in need. Additional information is available on their website, http://www.panerabread.com.
A thank you goes to Tina Lemelin, Joint Venture Partner of

Do you have a favorite fast food place or a favorite restaurant? Come on to Fairfield, CT. We’ll break some Panera Bread together.
Panera in my town is a nice to place to eat and relax with friends. I don’t write in public places because I get too distracted. And if I’m meeting my fellow writers, it’s too easy to spend the whole time chatting (which I love by the way!).
I am still thrilled that they opened up just around the corner from me. I can walk there. It is all uphill, but I walk everyday and I’m in good shape, no problem. Thanks for the comment Casey.
I love their turkey and artichoke panini and black bean soup! They have wonderful salads too. When ever I go to the Enfield Mall, I like to eat there. Good pick, Gail!
Is there anything there Paula that isn’t delicious? Oh, their muffins are a little dry, but a smear of butter and you are all set. I love the atmosphere. In the summer there is a patio. The one I have always visited is in Woodcliff Lake, NJ, where I used to live and frequent. My kids live near there, so I get to Jersey often. And the Apple store is there too, where I took my training. Always good to ask a few questions when I stop by, and Chico’s is there too. It is a winner stop.
Yes, it can be crowded. But my experience has been loverly, so I don’t mind the crowds, and go there when I have a little more time, if that’s possible. Today though, it was a grand opening hullabalou, and they had lots of cash registers going at the same time. I really had fun, they were giving away Panera Bread coffee 12 oz thermal cups and 99cents pastries, and I had my birthday present double chocolate brownie, and my hubby came along, so we did a kind of buffet, brought home the rest and had a supper too. And then I asked the manager if she would send me info and images for my blog. It doesn’t end there, but I will fill in as the excitement continues. They may be a sponsor for me at one of the art show that i curate. Oh joy, I really had fun today. And, Kate, thanks for commenting.
I do enjoy it. Great place to write. It’s located by the theaters so my kids can go see a movie while I get in my wordcount.
Katy, how fantastic is that. What a great place to sit and work on your wordcount. I really like the atmosphere, and the food and the people. I met a lady at the coffee center, you know the area with all those goodies, and she said to me, “this is a great place, don’t you think? This will be successful, not like the other places that were here.” I concurred. Hey, lady, thanks for commenting.
It’s hit or miss for me when it comes to Panera. The one near us is always crowded and unpleasant. There’s a new one in New Britain right across the street from my usual writing place of Barnes and Noble.
